INTRODUCTION
Judges routinely violate women's land rights. Matrimonial law and the proposed Civil Partnerships Bill contain legislation that can nullify property agreements between men and women. Courts retain the right to transfer (give) land to men when business partnerships end: land is taken from women titleholders, by coercion, and given to men as a matter of judicial practice. No compensation is paid to the victims.
The Lord Chancellor is not referring this situation to Parliament for legal or political debate, though the legislation is incompatible with human rights laws. Meanwhile, women continue to be unlawfully dispossessed of land.
